Entering the Hulst Library tonight was daunting as the reality of this being my home for the next week and a half hit me like a ton of bricks-- finals are almost here and its time to: consume excessive amounts of coffee and comfort food (aka. candy, chips, ice cream, etc.), get 3 hours of sleep, and lose any desire to appear presentable. However, while life may seem to currently end as we know it; in 10 days the stress, anxiety, and frustration of these dreaded tests will be a thing of the past.
No matter the grade life moves on.
A little more than a week from now Dordt's seniors and 2-year students will be graduating and embarking on a new chapter of life; which is full of endless adventures just waiting to be discovered. For some individuals this means leaving the Land of the Corn and traveling to new locations; for others, graduation may possibly lead to landing a job at a local school, hospital, or business through Dordt connections. Some graduates may have received an A+ in the popular core class, Dordt Dating 101 and are getting married within the next year!
On the other hand, for us underclassmen the end of this school year means the long awaited Summer 2K15 has finally arrived. Days of working, getting tan, and hanging out with friends are upon us; and it is time to take advantage of the opportunities that are available.
God has a perfect, wonderful, and unique plan for each one of his beloved children. The road trip of life is an exciting journey; full of challenges and experiences that develop the extraordinary characteristics God has crafted within each of us.
Open your eyes and enjoy!
As these days of warmth come and go, search for God in the little things. Our Father is everywhere and yearning for an opportunity to help us grow in faith and life. God wants his children to succeed; lean on him and allow for our creator to perform his miraculous work.
Therefore, I leave you with this:
Graduating students: Good luck! You will be more than missed and we appreciate all you have done for Dordt.
Incoming Freshman: We cannot wait to meet you! Dordt is an amazing experience- the memories and friendships that are developed will last for a life time.
Current Students: Until next fall- Hope your summer is full of exciting adventures! Can't wait to hear all the stories :)
