I love Dordt. Here's reason #387 of 4,261:
Last week, I sat down with my advisor (who also happens to be my Digital Media professor) to have a serious talk about life after college. I'm just a Junior, but Senior year is looming ever nearer, and after that . . . THEN WHAT??? I know where I want to be in five years, but a lot of unknowns are standing between the present me and the future me.
So my professor and I had a very long talk about how to address some of those unknowns. An hour and a half later, we concluded our conversation – my stomach knotted with anxiety and my heart burning with anticipation simultaneously. My professor sensed this and asked, "Can I pray for you before you go?" He proceeded to ask for God's encouragement and providential hand in my future endeavors.
He left me with these words: "When you get to be my age, you look back at your life and say, 'Wow, only God could orchestrate all that. What was I so worried about?'"
I walked out of his office emboldened, reoriented, and hopeful in God's direction for my life. That's just one of the many reasons I love Dordt. Where else can you drop by your prof's office, chat about life, and leave with his prayerful blessing?! That's what makes Dordt such a great place.
So, whatever unknowns you may be facing – imminent or distant – know that God will guide and direct you in ways you can't even imagine. Rest well in that knowledge.
