I was sitting at home on this Easter weekend reading a blog written by one of my good friends and I came across a link to another blog. Long story short, the link was to a post entitled “2015 Word of the Year.” Now I know it sounds a little cheesy and I have to admit I was a little skeptical as well, but I kept reading and you should too. What I found was that instead of creating a whole list of goals for herself, she has settled on just a single word to sum it all up.
She chose the word CONTENT and I absolutely love what she said about choosing this word. She said, "I can be content because I know that I am where God desires me to be." God's got this!
We are now in month 4 of 2015, and at the peak of our softball season, I feel like I’m struggling to find the appropriate amount of motivation to finish this race we call school. So, for the rest of the semester, I’ve decided that I am going to choose the word GROW as my goal. I want to grow spiritually, relationally, educationally, and in any other ways that I can. For me this means that I am going to need be better about managing my time (a.k.a. less netflix, more study ;) ).
God has begun a good work in all of us, let’s work hard and finish the school year with the same excitement to learn that we began it with!
And now let us GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forevermore! Amen! (2 Peter 3:18)
Do you have a word to describe your goals for finishing the school year off strong? Let's hear it!
