This past weekend over a hundred students drove the hour and a half up to Lake Okoboji for 24 hours of fellowship, worship, and a bit of fun competition. Here's a peak into some of the adventures that took place over the weekend.
This year I had the privilege once again to be on the planning committee for All Campus Retreat. I took on a little more responsibility this time around, but it was completely worth it. There were times where I was stressed because we had one week to coordinate everything, and only a half a week to get people to come.
Surprisingly the response exceeded expectation and the turn out was above average! Coming in close to 120 students attending. As you can see in the video there were many opportunities for bonding and making new friends.
However, the most rewarding part, from the perspective of someone who planned the trip, was Friday evening during the bonfire. We all gathered around a fire pit and sang praise songs. Seeing and hearing fellow classmates come together to praise and worship our God made every stressed out fiber in me relax and reminded me why I joined the committee in the first place.
I'm putting this weekend down as a success!
